May is still Spring!

After being in Virginia for a week, I can hardly wait for summer! I don’t have much to harvest for the market yet, but I’ll have some bunches of chives and Johnny Jump Ups(tricolor violets) for $1 each. I’ve also got some Quit Snivelin Tea to smack that pollen in the nose. come see me at the Clarkfork River Market between 8-1, Great music, food and drink await you!

     I, for one, am loving that all those “dead” things around us are covered with a nice soft shroud of lacy white. The frigid weather is a challenge as far as leaving the house. Elderberries- the Tonic of Fall

Did you know that we’ve got bushes of great berry medicine ready now in our area? Elderberries have long been known to bolster the immune system and especially help our respiratory and sinus systems? We’ll have a limited amount of gallon bags of elderberries on the stem at the Clarkfork River Market so you can make your own Elderberry syrup and we’ll be selling Quit Snivelin Wellness Tea Blend by the jar, mugpacks, cups to go and sampling the blend with local honey from Sapphire Apiaries and extra elderberries!

Fall is Closing in…

Really? I thought it was summer last week and I had time to finish those projects I scheduled. This market will be last time for fresh herbs, since it’s already cold at night! We’ll have company over from Washington for the last week of “Montana Summer”. So I’ll be  hustling in the garden in between activities. When I come back, I’ll have fresh elderberries for you!
