Volunteer/ Internships

They’re free, just sign up for a session HERE!

What are you interested in learning this season?

Our sessions during the weekdays are 3 hours and will start from 2-5pm.  If you want to stay all day on Sundays bring a sack lunch and we’ll eat and talk outside, on the screen porch or inside during the lunch hour from 1-2 pm. We’re all about the growing and spreading of sustainable herbs. You can see more about this garden on the U Pick page.  We are sustainable and incorporating permaculture principles as we learn! During and after the outdoor growing season we put our harvest into health-conscious dried herb products including culinary arrangements and blends, wellness teas and blends, and aromatic bath and sachet products. March starts the growing season again indoors.

Outdoor Volunteer Learning Sessions
When you arrive, you’ll be given a plant key with some categories and assigned a task to work with a partner. When we’re outside you can learn about preparing, planting, maintenance and harvesting up to 130 herbs that can grow in the Missoula area!

Indoor Volunteer Learning Sessions
When you arrive, we’ll meet at the Crafting room. We will work together there on wellness herb projects. You’ll be working with myself or another knowledgeable intern so ask away while we work! Most jobs will be specific to a category of herbs so you can get familiar with them personally. Even if we’re not in the growing mode, we’re happy to share our knowledge of herbs we process too!

Receive your $8 appreciation gift certificate of a free bag of herbs during the U Picks this year or toward a purchase in the Crafting room.
Outdoor Volunteer Learning Sessions are usually held April – OctoberIndoor Volunteer Learning Sessions are usually held November – March.

The short story is that we have 3 hour pm sessions during the week. if you need to come in the morning, arrangements can be made. Longer sessions are available on Sundays and early week. See this file below for details on everything this season!
