Thanksgiving means Thanks living!

Thanksgiving is coming! Two words in one—thanks and giving. Thanksgiving  ushers in a whole season of gifting. One of my favorite holidays because we see all that’s been harvested all dressed up and get to partake in it… and everything we’re thankful for. It’s our favorite time of  the year, since food is the center of everything and we’re making the herb and spice products for enhancing culinary delights and libations. And, it’s time to put together all the “herb pinching” crafts where we use the newly harvested herbs dried on the stem to create the innovative Herb Pinching for the Kitchen…Bouquets, wreathes and all sorts of sets-for both Culinary and Wellness Tea herbs. You’ll have lots of places for holiday needs or giftingIn the month of November, Big Sky Herbs starts on:Nov. 16th at Hellgate Elementary from 9-3. Nov. 23rd at Missoula Valley Winter Market 9-2 Nov. 30th at Sentinel High School Dec. 14 at the Lolo Community center at the school   On the Friday before each weekend there will be a new post here, on the Big Sky Herbs Face Book page. See you there! Spread the Herb and grow with us, Lori Elliott

Fall is Closing in…

Really? I thought it was summer last week and I had time to finish those projects I scheduled. This market will be last time for fresh herbs, since it’s already cold at night! We’ll have company over from Washington for the last week of “Montana Summer”. So I’ll be  hustling in the garden in between activities. When I come back, I’ll have fresh elderberries for you!

Bees love Goldenrod and so do I!

Goldenrod has had many uses over the centuries. Its current uses include: Anti fungal, cleansing, astringent, diuretic,  treating cystitis, rhinitis and allergies, urinary and yeast infections. I really like it for the sniffles that come from all the crap in the air. Right now it’s coming to it’s glory here. We’ll have extra fresh bunches and loose leaf bags of Goldenrod at the market by the river. Try it!
